Privacy
The app collects nothing about you. This page explains what that means in practice, because the claim is easy to make and worth checking.
No account, no analytics, no tracking
There is no sign-up and no login. The app contains no analytics service, no advertising network and no tracking of any kind. Nothing you do in it is reported anywhere, and nothing about you is shared with or sold to anyone.
Your location stays on the phone
If you allow location access, it is used for one thing: drawing the dot showing where you are on the map. That happens entirely on the device. Your position is never transmitted, stored on a server, or attached to anything else.
The weather shown in the app is for a fixed point on Alonissos, not for wherever you happen to be standing. So the weather request carries that island coordinate and nothing about you. Declining location access leaves every other part of the app working normally.
What is stored, and where
The app remembers which places you have saved, visited or hidden, and your display preferences. That is kept in the app's own storage on your phone, readable only by the app. Deleting the app deletes it. None of it is transmitted or backed up to us, because there is no us to back it up to.
Network requests the app makes
The app is offline by design, and the guide content, maps and photographs are bundled into it. It reaches the network for one purpose, keeping the weather current:
Those requests go from your device straight to the services that answer them. There is no relay and no server of ours in between.
The app asks four services for live conditions:
- Apple WeatherKit, for the forecast.
- NOAA Coral Reef Watch, served by PacIOOS, for the sea surface temperature.
- The United States Aviation Weather Center, for the current observation from Skiathos airport, the nearest live weather station to the islands.
- Meteoalarm, for official Greek weather warnings.
What each service receives is not the same. Apple WeatherKit and the sea temperature service are asked about a fixed point on the island, so they receive those coordinates. The airport observation is requested by a fixed station code for Skiathos airport, and the warnings feed covers the whole country. Those are places the app chooses, not places you are: none of these requests carries your position.
No request carries your GPS position, an account or an advertising identifier. Each service sees the ordinary network metadata any web request reveals, such as your IP address, handled under that service's own policy. We run no server in this path and keep no logs of our own.
The diagnostic log
The app and its widgets can write a technical trace on your device, so a problem can be looked at. It records what the app fetched and when, and nothing about you. It stays on your device and goes nowhere unless you choose to share it yourself from the app.
Children
The app is a travel guide and is not directed at children. Since it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either.

If the app ever starts doing something this page does not describe, this page changes first. The date below says when it was last revised.
